Sometimes he wondered why it was so important that the Clans had, well, Clans. Really, what was the point? You could always teach a cat new tricks. There was no point in mouse-brained border battles or getting worked up because another cat was found in your territory. It would be easier to have friends and mates, you wouldn't need to stick to your own clan. He sighed, for this sort of personality, he was sure acting more like Stripewing.
He could feel that the weather was starting to shake off the cold that had been with them for a few moons, it seemed. Good, he thought to himself. The cold weather had depressed him and from what he could see from the Fresh Kill pile, there were many prey starting to come out of hibernation. How lucky they were for this. Thank StarClan that they weren't starving and that for the most part, clan life was normal.
His mind wondered off to Nettlepath, the she-cat was obviously growing bigger by the day and the smell of milk was going to become more obvious. He couldn't wait, kits were great. They made a clan bigger and had such innocence, and it was quite fun to play with them. He let a little smile twinkle in his eyes as he snatched, thankfully, a vole from the pile and went to go eat it.

Nettlepath padded over to the fresh kill pile two mice dangling from her mouth. It was a pretty rubbish catch but having three legs did make it hard to stalk not to mention the fact that she was pregnant. She put one mouse on the pile and kept the other for herself sitting down next to Rainfrost. She nooded to him in greeting and took a bite out of her prey. When she had been a kit she'd gotten along quite well with Rainfrost. Then the wolves had came and after being crippled she hadn't seen much of him. He'd become a warrior while she was still stuck in the elders den. She didn't know him as well as she should but she didn't mind.

He hadn't yet taken a bite from his vole when he saw Nettlepath come into camp than pad over to the fresh kill pile to deposit her catch, which wasn't much for an average cat, but she was more, or perhaps less than average, depending on your views on it. The twinkle still stayed in his eyes as he nodded back to the she-cat in greeting, before eating his vole quickly, thankful for the meat of the vole to keep his stomach full. While it was comforting to have another cat beside him, at the same time, he wanted to walk away from the she-cat he didn't really know yet knew.
"So..." He started off, taking a glance at her face than slowly to her stomach, than of course, back to her face once more. "I see you're expecting kits." He chuckled awkwardly. It seemed like decades ago that he, Stripewing, and Nettlepath had been kits. Than easily ripped apart and now the she-cat was expecting kits of her own. Time seemed to fly by so quickly.

Nettlepath nodded noticing Rainfrost's akwardness. "There Wildstar's." She murmered the toms name bringing back memories. He'd went missing so long ago and his blood had been found splattered all over the scene. Everyone had assumed he was dead including herself but it didn't stop the pain. She took another bite from her mouse looking away from Rainfrost as tears pricked at her eyes. He was gone now.

"Er... Oh." He replied, he could feel his pelt prickling at what she said. Like any other cat, he assumed that the tom was also dead. He wasn't another she-cat with kit's, nor was he really close to her. It would be hard, in his point of view, to console the emotional she-cat. He didn't know the right words, and at any point, what would he possibly say? That he was sorry that he was gone, that wouldn't help anything. He couldn't tell the she-cat to not worry, seeing as Wildstar was most likely dead and in StarClan. "Well.." He paused, awkwardly, "I'm sure those kits will be healthy." He mewed.

Nettlepath shook her head she couldn't cry now. He was gone. She smiled a fake smile at Rainfrost trying to hide her sorrow. "I hope so to. I think Im having three or four." She mewed. She bent down and finished the rest of her mouse then buried the bones.

"They will be good kits." He mewed. Pausing for a moment, recalling the name of Nettlepath's father, "Adderfang would be happy and would your mother." He mewed, his own past clouding his eyes as he looked down at the bones, burying them before slowly returning his gaze towards Nettlepath. They had a common past and that was, both their parents died to protect them and the others.

Nettlepath gazed at Rainfrost the intensity in his eyes mirrored by herself. But there was also something else in her eyes a blaze of something the tom hadn't seen before. A fire that seemed to burn his soul. Nettlepath looked away as she heard the approaching of another cat and began to wash her paws.
