Alone

Silentkit padded throught the forest quietley, every pawstep bringing her closer to her destination, her ears pricked for the slightess noise of cats. If anyone was following her and she was caught she would get into a lot of trouble. Finally she reached it, her seceret spot a place that only she and Snowberry knew about and that was because she had shown him it. No one else would understand nobody ever did she was just some bad luck kit that everyone hated execept Snowberry.

She pulled herself under the brambles that stopped any other animal getting through and gave a happy sigh at the site of the old tree. She'd found it one time when she had snuck out and when she first saw it knew it was perfect. The inside was hollow and there was a small gap near the top that allowed a chink of moonlight to shine through. She had positioned shiny rocks and strange shiny, see through pieces of twoleg stuff so that the light glimmered inside the tree like a rainbow. She had painted the tree's inside with mud sticking leaves and flowers to it as well so it looked even more amazing in the moonlight. She had also filled the gaps in the tree with shells and covered the floor with feathers and moss for when she went to sleep. Usually the sight of it cheered her up but she didn't feel any better. She poked her head out the tree and stared at the stars sadly. Now that Snowberry is leader he won't have any time for me anymore. He was like a father to me and now he's gone. Just like all the rest....

Silentkit smiled sadly she remembered the first time Snowberry had took her out of camp. We were attacked by a fox but you saved me. And you kept saving me no matter how willing to die I was. You helped me more than any cat ever had. You brought me back to life but I still have a lot farther to go even if I have to go it alone. You you you. You were like a father to me but I have to seperate myself from dreams and reality... She padded back to the tree and settled down on the feathers gazing at the glimmering lights. She needed some time to think by herself. I'll get back to camp by dawn she told herself as she closed her eyes.

[Snowberry]

"Silentkit?" Snowstar meowed poking his head into the Nursery. He looked in seeing small kits rolling but not the one he was looking for. Where could she be? He asked himself going back into the clearing. Nothing again. Snowstar's heart started pounding agaist his chest. Where was she? "Silentkit?!" He meowed racing round the camp. Great Starclan I'm like a mother who's lost her kit! Then Snowstar stopped. She'll be there.. The place that I showed her. Quickly Snowstar raced out of camp. He came to a halt as he reached the place slowly he went under the Brambles and saw the old tree. And in the Hollow bit of it was a small kit. Silentkit. Snowstar went over to the small kit and placed his body next to hers. Keeping her warm.

Silentkit opened her eyes and gave a small yawn. She jumped in surprise when she realised she wasn't the only cat there. Snowberry! Whats he doing here?! She looked at the sleeping tom and couldn't help but smile. He promised he'd stick by me. Silently she curled back up to him and fell back into a deep sleep.

[Snowberry]

It was't long before Snowstar woke, it was late he could tell. Slowly he gave Silentkit an lick between the ears.
"Wake up." He meowed.

[lollytish]

Silentkit twitched her ears and yawned. It was way past sunhigh. I really overslept! Her cheeks flushed red, usually she got up really early. She quickly began to wash her fur her pink tonuge rasping over her silver grey pelt.

[Snowberry]

Snowstar gaved Silentkit a little nudge.
"Now what have I said about leaving the camp without my say so first?" He meowed looking at her with his amber eyes. "You know it's not safe out here. You learnt take when we attacked by that fox."

[lollytish]

Silentkit stared at Snowstar defiantly. Its not really safe in camp for me ethier! As much as the tom knew about her he didn't know everything. He didn't know about the elders or the scratches and bruises, of the things they did to her when no cat was looking. She was pure evil to them. They were the reason she sneaked out of camp to escape them because who would really believe a kit that everyone hated anyway? She stretched quickly avoiding the toms gaze then exited the tree. She pulled herself under the brambles scenting first to check that there was no danger. The coast was clear.

[Snowberry]

Snowsyar sighed as he pulled himself up. "I'm just saying at least try and tell me where your going. You can go out if you wish, but no where near the borders and keep away from the Thunderpath and also be back before it's dark. And- and make sue someone knows where you are. Oh and keep away from fox smells and anything that doesn't smell like cat. Okay? That all I'm asking you. Not much.. Okay maybe it is but at least I know where you are.." He meowed licking her head.

[lollytish]

Silentkit gave a small sigh. No cat would ever let me of camp and its not like Im stupid enough to go fox hunting is it?! Her tummy gave a small rumble and she reliased how hungry she was. Snowstar hadn't seemed to notice and was still going on about the dangers out of camp. Quietley she crept away carefull to making sure Snowstar didn't notice. She could scent a squirrl nibbling on a nut and quickly managed to locate it at the base of a tree. I'll have to be carefull not to scare it off... She crept closer her pawsteps making no noise on the grassy floor. It hasn't even seen me! She lent back on her haunches then jumped into the air. She landed on its back and gave it a quick bite around the neck. She picked it up and dragged it to Snowstar who seemed to have finally reliasesd she had disapeared. Sge dropped the squirrel and gave a small mew.

[Snowberry]

Snowstar sighed. "Did you even listen to what I had to say?" He sighed looking at Slientkit. "But anyhow. Good catch."

[lollytish]

Silentkit dragged the squirrel over to Snowstar and signalled with her tail for him to have the first bite. She felt a bit guilty for going off but she tended to get these talks all the time. She was bigger now though, and Silentkit knew pretty much all battle moves and could perform them. If she ever came face to face with a enemy cat, badger, fox, etc she probably had a good chance of winning the fight or at least scoring enough hits to escape.

[Snowberry]

Snowstar shooked his head, but then stopped. Silentkit wanted him to. He bent down and took a small bite then pulled away. "There. You have the rest." He meowed.
"Um. Silentkit. Because it soon will be your apprentice cemony, I do need you to say some things.. I know you don't like to talk but maybe you could say one or two words? Otherwise we're going to have problems. He meowed even though he knew how much Silentkit hated talking..

Silentkit took a bite of the squirrel chewing slowly so she had an excuse not to speak. She couldn't talk! Not to anyone! It was as if silence was a barrier protecting her from her from the evil that came out of cats mouths. But it didn't matter even if she wanted to she couldn't. The words just didn't come out right... She couldn't describe how she felt, what happened that night, why she hadn't spoken before she just couldn't. No one would understand. She looked up at Snowstar her blue eyes filled with a deep sadness. Not yet.

[Snowberry]

Snowstar saw the saddness in Silentkits eyes. "Okay, then. I'll guess the mentor has to be able to read your face, and the movments you do. Snowstar meowed than paused. "That means I'm the only one. So I guess I'll have to mentor you then."

Silentkit looked at Snowstar in surprise. He wants to mentor me! She waited for some joke about it, he couldn't be serious he couldn't. Snowstar gazed at her with gentle unwavering eyes. She gave a happy mew and dug her head into the toms thick fur letting out a quiet purr that was just hearable. Thankyou.
